Osasuna Completes Second Training Ahead of Real Sociedad Match
Probable Opponents Include Ourense, Portugalete, Numancia, Atlético Baleares, Sant Andreu, Reus, and Ebro
Club Atlético Osasuna will learn its second-round opponent in the Copa del Rey tomorrow. The match is scheduled for the first week of December.
After defeating Sant Jordi 5-0 in the opening round, Los Rojillos are now gearing up for their next challenge, vying for a spot in the Round of 32. The draw to determine their opponent will take place at 1 p.m. CET and will be live-streamed on the RFEF’s official channels, as well as broadcast on Teledeporte and Movistar Plus+ in Spain.
Continuing its proximity criterion, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has divided teams into northern and southern regions. As in previous editions, higher-tier teams will be paired with lower-tier teams, with the latter serving as hosts. Ourense, a recent participant in the Copa Federación and the Copa del Rey Mapfre, will be the first team drawn and will compete against a Primera División team from its region. Tercera and Segunda Federación teams will also be drawn to face top-tier opponents. The draw will include teams from the Primera Federación and Segunda División.
Notably, the teams competing in the Spanish Supercopa—FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid, and Athletic Club—will not participate in this round; they will enter the tournament in the subsequent round.
Osasuna has been placed in Group 1 alongside Celta, Real Sociedad, Alavés, Mallorca, Espanyol, and Girona.
Possible Opponents
According to the RFEF's regulations, Osasuna's potential opponents are:
- Ourense CF (Copa Federación)*
- Club Portugalete (Tercera Federación)
- CD Numancia de Soria (Segunda Federación)
- CD Atlético Baleares (Segunda Federación)
- UE Sant Andreu (Segunda Federación)
- Reus FC Reddis (Segunda Federación)
- CD Ebro (Segunda Federación)
*Note: Ourense competes in Primera Federación, a tier higher than the other listed teams, but is representing the Copa Federación in the Copa del Rey.
